Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management
Financial Aid
At Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), we are committed to ensuring that admission decisions are driven by merit and potential — not financial circumstances. Our Financial Aid framework is designed to support deserving students from diverse backgrounds and enable them to fully benefit from a high-quality, globally oriented education.
Our Approach to Financial Aid
RISM follows a student-centred and transparent approach to financial support. Merit-based and need-based scholarships are available for eligible students, ranging from 10% to 90%, based on academic performance and recommendations of the financial aid committee. Financial aid is structured to:
- Expand access to high-quality education for academically capable students
- Support families for whom the cost of education may be a constraint
- Encourage diversity of thought, experience, and socio-economic background on campus
- Enable students to focus on learning, research, and personal growth
Financial aid decisions are made independently of academic admissions and are reviewed with fairness, confidentiality, and consistency.
Forms of Financial Support
1. Need and Merit-Based Financial Aid
Need-based financial aid is available to students who demonstrate genuine financial need based on household income, family responsibilities, and overall financial capacity. Merit scholarships recognise students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, intellectual ability, or exceptional promise.
Key features:
- Open to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Based on academic records, entrance assessments, or achievements
- Assessed through a detailed financial review process
- Support may include partial or substantial tuition fee assistance
- Aid levels are determined based on documented need and availability of funds
2. External Financial Aid
We are in discussions with non-government organisations, corporates and philanthropic initiatives to provide financial assistance to deserving students.
